To join in the blog hop create a post that describes what type of special education you teach, what grade, how long you've been teaching and then your best piece of advice for starting a new school year off right. You could also include a link to an old post that you think would be helpful. Make sure to link back to my blog and come back to meet other special educators who have linked up! You can grab the button above to add to your post if you'd like.

Special Educator Bloghop
This week I'm really starting to work on preparing for my new classroom. I will be heading back to college on Wednesday to talk with one of my professors from grad school. He is going to be helping me design my behavior plan and procedures. Now that I'm thinking more about next year I would love to network with other special educators. I'm hosting a blog hop for special educators to meet each other and give their best advice for the new school year. If you teach any type of special education please join in!
I'll get us started!
Enjoy linking up at the bottom of the page. Feel free to use my graphic below to add your own information in.

Hi Jamie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for a blog hop. Thanks for hosting! :) I found you on the middle school blog log and am following you now.
Welcome to special education! You will find it one of the most rewarding and probably most difficult things you do as a teacher. Although in my book the rewards outweigh the difficulty by far! I intend to join your bloghop soon!

Thanks for hosting this blog hop! I love learning new strategies I can use. I also love Whole Brain Teaching. This is a new concept for me and I am so excited to try it out this year in my classroom. I am especially excited about Oral Writing. I used it a bit at the end of the year and saw dramatic results in just a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteOral writing? Is that part of Whole Brain Teaching? I will have to read into that! Glad you joined in the bloghop!

A View Into My Classroom
Fun!! I'd love to find more special educ blogs! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteHave you read The First Days of School by Harry Wong? That helped me with my routines and procedures! I teach K-5 emotional/behavioral support, so procedures are sooo important. I spend my first week completely focused on routines and procedures, with a little bit of academics. I made a classroom routines and procedures set that's illustrated and written (for non-readers and for kids who need text) that I can send you if you'd like it.
Here's my procedures/routines set http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Classroom-Routines-and-Procedures-Printable-Posters-for-Classroom-Management-832450
And my picture schedule set

I wish I had these when I started out, so honestly, if you like them they are yours for free. Just give me your email.
I'm linking up with your blog hop now! So excited to have found you! Thanks again!!
So glad you joined in the blog hop! I would love for you to email me those products. jmemichael1@gmail.com

I signed up yesterday and tried to blog from my phone since I am on vacation but that was a major fail, lol! I finally got access to a friend's old computer and was able to post. I love blog hops that are dedicated to special education teachers since so many of us work in isolation. I look forward to checking out a few I hadn't seen before, and to reading more of your blog. Good luck with your school year!
